A few of the completed photos from our recent project for Hawaii State Federal Credit Union in Honolulu. HSFCU will not only be the first in Hawaii to utilize integrated teller machines but it will be the first in the nation to utilize them with biometric authentication, better known as palm vein scan.
Among the latest innovations at the new location include two "touch tables," which are essentially two giant tablets that double as tabletop counters for customers to browse credit union offerings, a rolling barn door that transforms a private consultation room into an additional teller line, and a check in system that queues members in line and lets tellers know what the customer's needs are.
The Hawaii State Federal Credit Union team visited the Element HQ office in Portsmouth, NH to strategize how the new Salt Lake branch will make an impact on the branch members as well as the community. While in the northeast, the group viewed some of the local sites and some local branches for inspiration.
The team from Hawaii and the team from Element worked their way through concepts, schematic design, and design development documentation. All of the millwork and materials were manufactured in a Phoenix location, then carefully packaged, crated, and shipped to Honolulu.
The goal driving this project was to see new members engaging in the next evolution of the credit union while having a space that remains true to Hawaii State's heritage and what makes HSFCU great. They wanted to have their branch design signal an evolution and growth. We want our evolution at HSFCU to embrace the mindset of Kaizen so that we may better serve the community, our members and staff engagement (Kaizen means always improving, you never arrive).
